The wisdom in this book comes from over twenty-three years of service, sacrifice, and teaching leaders, both young and old, in and outside of the United States Military in organizations and communities around the globe. As a Navy Non-Commissioned Officer and Senior Chief, I was called to teach and share strategic principles and leadership techniques that would prepare our nation’s best and brightest leaders to go into harm’s way as humanitarians, dignitaries, negotiators, construction men and women, and combat soldiers ready to fight, win, lead, and survive.

Together, we fought, grew, and learned how to provide better futures for ourselves and others through high-octane leadership.

Today I share these principles with young professionals, men and women, entrepreneurs, freedom seekers, and agents of change who are ready to answer the call for effective leadership in their families, communities, and organizations. I teach them that outstanding leadership starts with self: self-leadership, self-discipline, self-awareness, and self-caring.
